2013 is the first vintage of the flagship Karas Reserve. It’s a rich, fruit forward wine, with a flavor profile similar to a Napa Rhone blend. Made from a blend of French grape varietals, the 2013 blend is 30% Syrah, 20% Tannat, 20% Malbec, 15% Montepulciano and 15% Petit Verdot. Fermented in steel tanks and it aged in oak for 14 months.
The 2013 Karas Reserve won a gold medal at the International Wine Awards in Neustadt Germany on March 2nd, 2017 and a Bronze Medal at the 2017 Decanter Magazine World Wine Awards. Wine Advocate rated it 90 points in issue 231.
Tasting Notes: Deep plum notes, beautiful balance of oak and deep fruit.
